How to deal with living with coed bathroom in coed dorm?
Q. I just started living in a coed dorm with coed bathrooms. The toilets are in individual stalls like normal so that is no problem but I am not sure how to deal with showering in a stall next to some guy. The shower curtians are pretty much see-thru and taller guys can see right over the 5.5ft tall dividers. I am not super freaked out just never been in this situation before and hot sure how to act. I have walked into the shower area before and seen guys toweling off. They just smile and say a friendly hello. I am not sure if i should turn around or cover my eyes or it is ok to look? How should I act? Any women ever experience a coed bathroom like this in a dorm?

A. My first year, our bathrooms were completely coed, just like yours. My second year, they split them - back stalls for the women, front for the men. The third year, they went single sex. I have to admit, I was pretty happy when we split the front/back showers by gender. Like you, it was the "tall guy" thing that bothered me a bit. Not that I didn't trust my hallmates, but - if he's tall, he can see even if he doesn't mean to. And the man living next to me must have been well over 6' tall. When you walk into the bathroom, if a man says hello, you can reply no problem. Make eye contact. Then go on about your business. If someone is already in a shower, you're in luck, because if he or she is short, simply take the shower next to them… [cont.]

Any ideas on good locations for a coed bridal shower in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?
Q. My sister is hosting the shower but she lives in Arizona so I need to find a spot for her. Any ideas? It's coed, there will be about 110 people there and it will be in the summer.

A. I've lived in both. There's a whole lot less distraction and drama if you live on an all female floor. I am not saying it's perfect - just less stressful.
